Lina Olsson joins Prevas as Business Unit Manager in Umeå

Lina Olsson, former CEO of HiloProbe, is stepping into a new role as Business Unit Manager at the consulting firm Prevas. The company is expanding into Umeå focusing on MedTech and Life Science.

Prevas was founded in 1985 and operates as a technology consulting firm in Sweden, Norway, Denmark and Finland. In 2019 the company established a presence in Luleå, primarily focused on production development. More recently, Prevas has been eyeing Umeå, aiming to strengthen its footprint in life science and medical technology.

Build up operations in Umeå
Now, Lina Olsson has been appointed Business Unit Manager for Prevas in Umeå, tasked with building up the local operations.

"I’m excited about this opportunity, as it allows me to apply everything I’ve learned during my time at HiloProbe," she says.

"My initial focus will be to map out the key competencies needed in Umeå. In the long run, the plan is to recruit talent so that we can build a strong local team.

Prevas has around 1 000 consultants and operates within two main business areas: product development — including Life Science and MedTech — and production development. Product development accounts for approximately 60% of the company’s business.

Tailored approach for each city
Majid Meshkintorreh, Regional Manager for Prevas in Norrland, highlights that the company has a significant presence in Life Science and, in particular, MedTech in Stockholm, Uppsala, and Copenhagen. He notes that Lina Olsson will be working closely with Prevas’ experts in product development and strategic assessments.

"In the long term, we hope to grow our team in Umeå. Each city has unique needs, and while we maintain a unified portfolio, we always tailor our approach to fit the local market. Lina, with her strong industry knowledge and local expertise, will play a key role in this. She has an exciting background, with experience in both entrepreneurship and academic research," says Majid Meshkintorreh.
