Xerum became nationally known for its self sampling and one of the world's most sensitive antibody test during the Covid pandemic. Now the Umeå company has been nominated for the MedTech4Health Innovation Award.
The Umeå company Xerum has received a new national assignment to measure the presence of antibodies against SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes covid-19 in Sweden. Xerum has performed and analyzed around 10 000 tests during the pandemic.
Umeå-based Xerum launched a home testing kit in March that detects antibodies against SARS-CoV-2 - the virus that causes Covid-19. Uptake of the kits was strong, and now the company has been given an important assignment by the Swedish Public Health Agency. “We will be responsible for the distribution and analysis of our self-sampling kits as part of a large study” says Julia Wigren Byström, CEO.
