Press release -

Roger Folkhage appointed new CEO of Medicvent

Roger Folkhage has been appointed as the new CEO of the Umeå-based company Medicvent. He joins from his previous role as Global Sales Director at Bohus Biotech.

Last autumn, the former CEO Erik Lindström announced that he was stepping down to take on a new role within the parent company Sdiptech. When Medicvent advertised for a new CEO, Roger Folkhage, who had moved back to Umeå with his family three years ago, was quick to apply.

"I have been commuting to Stockholm for work for three years. I felt that I wanted to work here to truly live in Umeå. Just a day after deciding to look for a job, I found Medicvent's advertisement. It felt like fate," says the new CEO.

Seven years in the MedTech industry
Roger Folkhage has a background in journalism but switched to sales in the early 2010s. He started at Oriflame Cosmetics, moved on to over-the-counter pharmaceuticals, and has spent the last seven years working with MedTech related to aesthetic clinics and distributors globally.

“One of Medicvent’s key goals is international expansion, particularly in markets where workplace safety and the healthcare environment are high priorities. I’ve worked internationally in previous roles and hope to make a meaningful contribution to Medicvent’s future growth,” he says.

Medicvent was founded in 1983 with the overarching business idea of developing, manufacturing, and selling products to evacuate air pollutants, primarily within healthcare. Medicvent, based in Umeå since 1989, holds a strong position in the Swedish market, and the company supplied equipment when the New Karolinska Hospital was built in Solna.

For Roger Folkhage, there is initially a natural sounding board within the group as the former CEO Erik Lindström, in addition to his new role within Sdiptech, is also the new chairman of the board at Medicvent.

"Receiving this kind of support is rare and a privilege. I'm genuinely impressed with Medicvent so far. The team is knowledgeable and driven, and there's a clear willingness to grow and innovate across the entire company — creating great opportunities for all of us to keep growing," states Roger Folkhage.
